In 2026, it retains the theme \u201cMobility for All,\u201d with a particular focus on intergenerational justice and the varying mobility needs of children, young people, adults, and older adults.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">Taking place during the same period are the ROADPOL Safety Days, which in 2026 are dedicated to pedestrian safety. September 17 was chosen as the day when Europe will seek to achieve a goal as simple to formulate as it is difficult to realize: zero road deaths.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">The campaign concludes on September 22, European Car-Free Day.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Mobility is only inclusive when it is safe<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Speaking of mobility for all means talking about accessibility, transport availability, sustainability, cost, and freedom of choice. But it also means talking about safety.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">A mobility solution is not truly inclusive if a child cannot travel safely, if an older person fears crossing the street, if a worker is exposed daily to road risk, or if walking and cycling continue to pose a disproportionate risk.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Each generation presents different needs and capabilities:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"9\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Children<\/b> have a reduced ability to gauge vehicle speed and distance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Young people<\/b> are more exposed to active mobility and new forms of micromobility.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Adults<\/b> juggle professional, family, and commuting travel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Older adults<\/b> may face limitations in mobility, vision, hearing, or reaction time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9,4,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Future generations<\/b> depend on the mobility choices and urban planning decisions we make today.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">Building truly intergenerational mobility therefore requires a system that recognizes these differences and prioritizes the protection of those who are most vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The role of companies and fleets<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">Companies exercise a significant influence over mobility. They determine how thousands of professional journeys are made, organize schedules and routes, select vehicles, define operational targets, and influence the behavior of their workers and drivers.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Corporate responsibility does not end with accidents that occur during a work assignment. It must also consider:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"14\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\">Commuting journeys;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\">Coexistence between corporate vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,2,0\">Schedule pressures and the effects of fatigue;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,3,0\">Speed management;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,4,0\">Choice of transport modes;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,5,0\">Employee training and awareness;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,6,0\">Safety within access points, parking lots, and facilities;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,7,0\">Specific needs of workers across different age groups.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15\">Corporate mobility management must integrate road safety, sustainability, accessibility, and occupational road risk prevention.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16\"><b data-path-to-node=\"16\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">An awareness and knowledge campaign<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"17\">Throughout European Mobility Week, SEGEF FROTAS will share analytical, educational, and practical content tailored to companies, fleet managers, occupational health and safety officers, mobility professionals, and road users.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"18\">The campaign will cover topics including:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"19\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,0,0\">Intergenerational mobility;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,1,0\">Pedestrian safety;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,2,0\">Occupational road risk prevention;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,3,0\">Professional and commuting travel;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,4,0\">Corporate and fleet responsibility;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,5,0\">Practical measures to protect vulnerable road users;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"19,6,0\">The importance of turning temporary campaigns into permanent actions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20\">The unifying message across all content will be:<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"21\"><i data-path-to-node=\"21\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Mobility for all only exists when it is also safe for all.<\/i><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"22\"><b data-path-to-node=\"22\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">September 17: Zero means life<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23\">Achieving zero road deaths in a single day carries strong symbolic value, but it also demonstrates the scale of the challenge.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"24\">Zero does not represent a lack of results. It represents lives that were not cut short, families that did not receive tragic news, and communities that did not have to suffer the consequences of a fatal accident.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"25\">Reaching zero deaths on one day should help us believe that it is possible to progressively achieve that goal every day. Vision Zero begins when we stop accepting death and serious injury as an inevitable consequence of mobility.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"26\"><b data-path-to-node=\"26\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Beyond European Mobility Week<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27\">Transformation cannot end on Car-Free Day.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"28\">The insights developed during this campaign will continue under Horizon Safe (<i data-path-to-node=\"28\" data-index-in-node=\"78\">Horizonte Seguro<\/i>), an initiative by SEGEF FROTAS and CARTRACK dedicated to improving fleet road safety.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"29\">On October 20, 2026, Alcoba\u00e7a will host the 3rd Fleet Road Safety Conference and the Horizon Safe Award ceremony. The event will bring together companies, fleet managers, experts, authorities, and stakeholders committed to translating principles into concrete actions and best practices into results.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"30\">European Mobility Week serves as a starting point for an ongoing reflection that must continue within companies, across cities, and during every journey.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"31\">Because mobility must reach everyone \u2014 but it must allow everyone to arrive safely.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mobility for all only exists when it is also safe for all.
